The Chosen Season 6 Streams November 15 as the Series Turns to Jesus' Final Day

Season 6 of the global television phenomenon The Chosen will begin streaming on Prime Video on November 15, 2026, and for the first time the series will take viewers into the final day of Jesus’ earthly life.

The news was confirmed on the official Season 6 page of The Chosen, which announced: “The hour has come. Before the sun sets, Jesus will be dead.” The season will capture the historic events of that day — the betrayal, trials and crucifixion — through the eyes of both those who loved Him and those who condemned Him.

A Moment Eight Years in the Making

According to the series’ creators, Season 6 is the emotional summit of the entire show. “Pharisees call it justice. Romans call it peace. Followers call it murder. But in the face of loneliness and death, Jesus stands resolute in a plan that has always led to one place: the cross,” the official synopsis reads.

Series creator Dallas Jenkins has previously described the season as “the hardest season we’ll ever make,” with much of the filming completed in Goshen, Utah — the same location used for the Sermon on the Mount in Season 3.

Details of the episode-by-episode release schedule have not been independently confirmed, and Prime Video availability in specific regions, including Ghana, has not been stated in official announcements at the time of writing. Viewers should watch for local confirmation closer to the premiere date.

The Crucifixion Goes to the Big Screen

The streaming premiere will be followed by another milestone: in spring 2027, the crucifixion story will release as a global theatrical film produced with Amazon MGM Studios, bringing the climactic episodes to cinemas worldwide.

Seasons 1 through 5 are currently available on Prime Video and on The Chosen app, which remains free on iOS and Android for viewers who want to catch up before the new season arrives.

Why It Matters

Since its 2017 launch as a crowd-funded project, The Chosen has become one of the most-watched faith-based series in history, translated into dozens of languages and watched by an estimated hundreds of millions of viewers worldwide. Its portrayal of Jesus’ final day is expected to be its most intense and most-discussed chapter yet.

For Christian audiences in Ghana and across Africa, the season offers an opportunity to revisit the passion narrative in a fresh, deeply human way — and churches and small groups may find it a valuable conversation starter during the season leading up to Easter.
