India Revival Crusade Draws Massive Crowds to Jesus Christ

SIMDEGA, JHARKHAND — For three days at the end of September and the beginning of October, the normally quiet district of Simdega in Jharkhand, India, became the centre of one of the region's largest Christian gatherings. The Jharkhand Prayer Festival 2026, held from September 30 to October 2, drew thousands of believers from across the state and beyond for worship, preaching, and fervent prayer under the banner "Mighty Revival in India."

A Gathering Years in the Making

The festival was led by Apostle Ankit Sajwan, joined by Pastor Monica Sajwan, whose ministry teams spent weeks preparing the ground, the stage, and the logistics for what organisers described as a historic gathering for the region. Videos shared ahead of the event showed volunteers preparing the grounds while believers arrived in growing numbers, many travelling long distances from villages across Jharkhand and neighbouring states.

Aerial footage captured during the meetings showed a vast sea of worshippers filling the open field, hands raised as worship teams led the crowds in song. Attendees described an atmosphere of expectancy that built steadily from the first evening to the final session on October 2.

Prayer, Preaching and Reported Transformation

Across the three days, the programme centred on extended times of corporate prayer, messages on repentance and revival, and prayers for the sick. Organisers and participants shared reports of salvation commitments, physical healing, and deliverance taking place throughout the festival, themes that have characterised the "Prarthana Mahotsav" (prayer festival) meetings that have been growing across India in recent years.

Local churches and ministries in Simdega, including Yeshu Jeewan Hai Ministries and other regional fellowships, partnered in hosting and mobilising attendance, and footage from the final day showed crowds remaining well into the evening for the closing sessions.

Why Simdega Matters

The choice of Simdega is significant. Jharkhand is home to a substantial tribal population, and Christians in the state — while a growing community — often worship as a minority amid social and legal pressures. A public Christian gathering of this scale, held openly and covered widely on social media, sends a visible message of the church's confidence and growth in the region.

Festivals like this one also reflect a broader pattern across India, where large-scale gospel meetings in smaller district towns are drawing crowds that rival those of major metropolitan events, signalling how the centre of gravity for mass evangelism is shifting toward India's heartland.

Looking Ahead

As the crowds dispersed after the final day, organisers and participants carried home what they described as a renewed burden for prayer and evangelism in Jharkhand. For the believers of Simdega, the three days were more than an event; they were a declaration that the church in Jharkhand is alive, growing, and praying for revival across India.

ChristianLens will continue to follow reports of fruit from the Jharkhand Prayer Festival as churches in the region follow up with new believers in the weeks ahead.
