“She was a True Friend of the Christian Faith”- Franklin Graham as He Mourns the Death of Queen Elizabeth II.
On Thursday, September 8, 2022, the UK’s longest-serving monarch, Queen Elizabeth II died at Balmoral. Her death brought a saddened atmosphere to the world. Many prominent people around the diaspora has sent a message of condolences to the royal family. Such include Franklin Graham.
William Franklin Graham III, an American evangelist and missionary, has sent a deep message of condolences to the mourning royal family and asked for prayer on behalf of the family.
The CEO of the Billy Graham Evangelistic Association (BGEA) shared in his message that the Queen was a symbol of stability and steadfastness for the United Kingdom for 70 long years. He shared how deeply he is sad about the death of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II. He added that he appreciates the exemplary leadership lifestyle of the Queen and her integrity as a leader.
He shared the deep friendship between his late father and the Queen and how the Queen loved Jesus Christ and God’s Word.
“I’m especially grateful for the Queen’s friendship with my father Billy Graham. He cherished their friendship that was built on a shared love for Jesus Christ and belief in God’s Word. My father had the privilege of meeting with the Queen more than a dozen times, and she was gracious host, inviting my parents to visit Buckingham Palace on several occasion.”
Franklin Graham said that his father he found the Queen to be a woman of rare modesty and character, and made a pledge to pray for her and her family every day. Franklin Graham celebrated the Queen by adding that he admired the Queen’s talk about Jesus Christ during her public addresses.
“I draw strength from the message of hope in the Christian Gospel,” Queen Elizabeth II.
“She was a true friend of the Christian faith. She will be profoundly missed.” Franklin Graham.
He asked people to join him in praying for the royal family and the entire nation of UK.
The Queen died peacefully at her Scottish estate, where she had spent much of the summer. The Queen came to the throne in 1952 and witnessed enormous social change.
