Moviegoers Are Coming to Christ After Watching “Jesus Revolution,” Producer Says

A new Christian film called “Jesus Revolution” is making waves among moviegoers and reportedly leading some to Christ. The film, which tells the story of a group of California college students who became leaders in the Jesus Movement of the 1960s and 70s, is resonating with audiences of all ages.

The film’s producer, Jon Erwin, told Christian Headlines that he has been overwhelmed by the response to the movie. “We’re hearing stories of people who are coming to Christ for the first time, and people who have been away from the church for years and are coming back,” he said.

Erwin believes that the film’s message of love and unity is what is resonating with audiences. “We live in a divided world, and people are hungry for something that brings us together,” he said. “The message of Jesus is all about love and forgiveness, and that’s what people are responding to in the movie.”

“Jesus Revolution” stars Australian actor Joel Courtney as Greg Laurie, the real-life pastor who became a leader in the Jesus Movement. The film also features a cameo from Laurie himself, who appears as one of the characters in the movie.

The Jesus Movement, which began in the late 1960s, was a revival that swept through the United States and other parts of the world. It was characterized by a focus on personal salvation and a rejection of the materialism and conformity of mainstream culture.

Erwin said that he hopes “Jesus Revolution” will inspire a new generation to follow in the footsteps of the Jesus Movement pioneers. “We need another Jesus Revolution today,” he said. “We need people who are willing to stand up for what they believe in and share the love of Jesus with others.”

The film was released in theaters on February 18 and is now available for streaming on multiple platforms.
