Horror in Congo: 70 Missing People Found Beheaded in Church Massacre

In a tragic incident in the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC), at least 70 people were found beheaded inside a Protestant church in Kasanga village. The victims had reportedly been held hostage before being brutally killed with machetes. The Allied Democratic Forces (ADF), a militant group affiliated with ISIS, is suspected to be behind the massacre.
This atrocity is part of the escalating conflict in eastern DRC, where violence has displaced hundreds of thousands. The ADF is among the deadliest armed groups in the region, often overshadowed by the M23 rebels, who recently seized strategic locations, including parts of Bukavu, Congo’s second-largest city.
The United Nations has warned that over 350,000 people have been left without shelter due to intensifying clashes. The international community is being urged to take immediate action to prevent further humanitarian disasters.
This massacre is reminiscent of past atrocities in the region, such as the Kasika Massacre in 1998, where over 1,000 civilians were killed. The ongoing violence underscores the urgent need for global intervention to restore peace and security in the DRC.
