A Chinese Christian Bookseller Jailed for 7 Years.

As persecution among Christians in China gets worsen, recent sources had it that a Christian man called Chen Yu, has been sentenced to 7 years in prison after selling religious Chinese – translated books.
According to Western Journal, a nonprofit organization, International Christian Concern reported that a Chinese Christian online bookstore owner, Chen Yu, was charged with “illegal business operations” on Sept. 27. The sentenced Christian was also fined a fee of 200,000 renminbi ($29,450).
Sources confirmed that this is not the only time Chen Yu has faced the court but on Sept. 1, 2019, Yu was detained for selling unapproved religious books imported from the U.S., Taiwan, and other countries. An investigation was launched to thoroughly go through the matter for appropriate results and to trace those illegal publications.
“The sentence for Mr. Chen Yu shows how the Chinese government is increasingly frightened by all things religious. From religious symbols, Chinese couplets, to Christian books, anything that features religious elements is no longer tolerated by the Chinese Communist Party,” the words of Gina Goh, ICC’s regional manager for Southeast Asia, who spoke against this arrest.
She continued to make reference to Early Rain Covenant Church Pastor, Wang Yi who was charged on the same bases.
It looks like religious persecution in China is growing more on the premises of the Communist Party in China. This and a lot more proves that “faith” is a real threat to their policies. After several attacks on Christians; arresting pastors, shutting down churches, ripping off church cross, and changing Christianity to “Chinese – style of Christianity,” attest to the fact that it is indeed a big deal for them.
Christian Communities in China are calling urgently for the support of International Communities and the US to come to their aid as persecution arises.
