Wailing Or Waiting?

Waiting is difficult. It’s one of the most difficult things God asks us to do, especially for people like me who are still learning patience. The Bible in Isaiah 40:31 says; “But they that wait upon the LORD shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint”.
How is strength renewed in the waiting period? The waiting period is a time of rest, where God works in and on us, to prepare us for what lies ahead. Through the rest and fortitude given us during the waiting period, our strength is renewed. Sounds simple and easy right?
Well, the difficulty is in resting and allowing God work on us. Most times we worry a lot and start thinking of all that could go wrong. Instead of relaxing, we begin to strategize and form plan B’s, C’s and whatnot. By the time the wait period is over, we have no strength left to mount up with wings and soar like eagles, no strength to run, because we are extremely weary and no strength to even walk because we are fainting under the burdens we are carrying.
So, God does what we are waiting for, but we don’t have the strength, capability and fortitude to move with it. We then end up blaming God and complaining about how long we waited and saw nothing. But the question is, were you really waiting on God?
The wait period is when we are to also work on ourselves, as God is working on us, developing skills and preparing ourselves for what we are waiting for. Acquiring the physical and mental strength for what we are waiting for.
In our world of instant gratification, with God’s unchanging standards, waiting is even more difficult. It’s easier to see just the situation we are in and spend all the time complaining and worrying. Many have come to abandon the wait and their quest for instant gratification. Are you one of them? Are you willing to submit to God and honor Him in your journey? Does it appear to us in public that you are faithful to Him but in secret and in truth, you are not? Have you concluded that God is too slow and boring and have gone ahead to walk with the multitude who take lightly the instructions of God?
Love is patient! If you really love God and are trusting Him in your daily walk, then, your love must be patient.
Let me end with one of my favorite scriptures from Isaiah 30:18 (MSG) “But GOD’s not finished. He’s waiting around to be gracious to you. He’s gathering strength to show mercy to you. GOD takes the time to do everything right- everything. Those who wait around for him are the lucky ones”.
When you wait on Him, you become lucky because at the end of the day, everything, and I mean everything, works out right.

Putting on “The Whole Armor of God”
As Christians, we are called to put on the whole armor of God, as it says in Ephesians 6:11-18. This is not just a suggestion or a nice thing to do; it is a command from God Himself. The spiritual battle we face is real, and we must be prepared if we hope to emerge […]

In a world where there is so much pain and hurt, where crazy occurs daily, it’s easier to doubt than it is to have faith, especially when it seems God is far away. I don’t know if I’m the only one, but I really struggle with trusting God completely. You see, I have a very […]
