First Love

motions are really an essential part of humans. Obviously, they have bearings on how a person acts. Consider what you say or do when angry, sad, excited, or confused. These are everyday emotions we all have as normal people. It is highly right that we know we feel the way we feel or accept issues as they come to us every day, so it is in the case of love, even as children of God.

There is no greater feeling than the feeling of love or a greater gift than the gift of love. God is not just the first to love, rather, the very epitome of love as he defines love himself. The Bible says in I John 4:8; “Whoever does not love does not know God, becwasserdichte trekkingschuhe herren Switzerland 49ers jersey Iowa State Football Uniforms drcastelar.com philips avent babyphone scd711 scott 26 zoll xs bester frauenrasierer overweightcare.com nachttisch hemnes hottubtravels.com acematrix.net sendrat.com Iowa State Football Uniforms ause God is love.” when talking about showing love to one another. Love is the greatest affection one can have because it is the emotion that exposes the weakness of the one who loves, more than any other emotion. When love is promised, it requires sacrifice to execute it. It was for this reason that God sent His only begotten Son into the world to die, so that worthless people might be saved through Him. It is required of the Christian to equally make a sacrifice, diminutive, or great.

This sacrifice that we must make as Christians tend to scare us more often than anything. Without argument, offering your whole being is much difficult in execution than in thought. Due to this, we mostly overlook the love of God in our attempt to succeed on our own, pretending not to know that “Every good and perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of the heavenly lights, who does not change like shifting shadows.” – James 1:17.

No matter how farther we can run from the truth, we can never deny our emotions towards God when we first accepted Christ Jesus into our lives. We saw how beautiful creation became, the renewal of our strength, and the charisma to fight even in death. We can never forget our devotion to hearing His sweet voice every morning and our commitment towards His work. We think of how to get back the moments when we could see His face simply by lifting our eyes into the sky or by closing our eyes. What about the moments we could set our beds with two pillows in the opposite direction, and invite Him for a discussion, assured afterward that He really came?

It is this love that God expects us to sustain to the end. It is this love that God speaks of in Revelations 2:4-5, “Yet I hold this against you: you have forsaken the love you had at first.  Consider how far you have fallen! Repent and do the things you did at first. If you do not repent, I will come to you and remove your lampstand from its place.”

Because we try to run away from loving God in the first place, we are unable to love His creation, and even our own selves, but our earthly desires. God calls on us daily to take the hand He has stretched for us. He calls us to come to Him and because it is difficult, Christ Jesus has paved the way for us to follow. Not just that, but through our faith in Christ Jesus, we have fellowship with God through the Holy Spirit.

There is never a greater feeling than the great love you felt at first for God, even if it was for one day. Get back to it.
