FAITH?

In a world where there is so much pain and hurt, where crazy occurs daily, it’s easier to doubt than it is to have faith, especially when it seems God is far away.
I don’t know if I’m the only one, but I really struggle with trusting God completely. You see, I have a very imaginative mind so many times when I ask God for something, the wheels in my mind starts whirling at an ultra-speed, raising doubts and secretly asking….. Is this not too big? Can God do it? What if God doesn’t do it? Should I look for an alternate plan in case He doesn’t do it?…. I guess I’m the 21st Century’s, Doubting Thomas.
But wait!!… What is really too big for a God who created the universe and everything in it with just His words? Going through the Bible, I’ve discovered seemingly impossible situations becoming possible…. Is it a man, dead and buried, expected to have started rotting and smelling, coming back to life? Is it a 90year old barren woman, giving birth to a son for her 100year old husband? Is it brand new eyes just popping in sockets after a little mud and saliva was applied, demons cast out, lepers cleansed, the dead receiving life? Is it a little boy killing a giant with a sling and stone? Is it the thick high walls of a city, falling down after people just marched around it? Is it a virgin, giving birth to a son who died to save the world from sin? Or is it the virgin’s son, resurrecting from death, ascending into heaven, giving us eternal life and sending the promised Holy Spirit to dwell in our hearts? The Bible is definitely full of crazily amazing real stories, where impossibilities become very possible.
Doubt is a sin. It is a product of the fallen nature. Just like Peter, when he was walking on the water to Jesus, when we shift our gaze from Jesus to the situations around us, doubt arises and then, we begin to sink. My heart must therefore be trained to resist every form of unbelief and doubt, by looking back at all God has done, affirming that God is able and faithful.
Faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen… In the Kingdom of God, we don’t see to believe. We believe to see…
Ephesians 3:20 according to the passion translation also says, ”Never doubt God’s mighty power to work in you and accomplish all this. He will achieve infinitely more than your greatest request, your most unbelievable dream, and exceed your wildest imagination! He will outdo them all, for His miraculous power constantly energizes you”. Read that again….. Wow!! What an amazing promise and assurance for doubters like me. Another promise is the one in Jeremiah 29:11. Guess what is reassuring….. God has never failed any promise He made. He keeps His word to the latter, no matter how long it seems to be delaying. What then, is there to doubt?
I believe Lord, I believe!
Would you dare to believe Him this new year with me?
Happy new year and may we live by faith and not by sight this year, trusting God completely, wholly, and unconditionally for the seemingly hard things!

Putting on “The Whole Armor of God”
As Christians, we are called to put on the whole armor of God, as it says in Ephesians 6:11-18. This is not just a suggestion or a nice thing to do; it is a command from God Himself. The spiritual battle we face is real, and we must be prepared if we hope to emerge […]
Christian faithWailing Or Waiting?
Waiting is difficult. It’s one of the most difficult things God asks us to do, especially for people like me who are still learning patience. The Bible in Isaiah 40:31 says; “But they that wait upon the LORD shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not […]
