Candace Cameron Bure Says Faith in Hollywood is Gaining Acceptance

Actress Candace Cameron Bure, known for her outspoken Christian faith, recently expressed optimism that Hollywood is becoming more accepting of religious beliefs. Speaking at the recent Movieguide Awards, Bure shared her perspective that people in the entertainment industry are becoming less fearful of being “canceled” for openly expressing their faith.
Bure, who has been a longtime advocate for faith-based storytelling in film and television, acknowledged that there have been challenges for openly Christian actors and creators. However, she noted a growing trend of individuals who are standing firm in their beliefs and finding success despite potential backlash.
“I truly believe that people are becoming less afraid to speak about their faith,” Bure said during an interview at the awards event. “We’re seeing more stories that reflect Christian values, and I think audiences are responding positively.”
The Movieguide Awards celebrate faith-based and family-friendly entertainment, recognizing projects that incorporate positive messages and moral values. Bure has been a frequent attendee and advocate for faith-driven media.
Despite this optimistic outlook, some critics argue that Hollywood remains largely secular and that expressing Christian beliefs can still come with professional risks. However, Bure remains hopeful that a cultural shift is occurring, leading to more opportunities for faith-oriented storytelling.
With her continued success in projects that align with her faith, including her work with the Great American Family network, Bure continues to be a prominent voice advocating for religious representation in the entertainment industry.
