This is the Lord. Your God is not the God of your past, but the God of your future. The Lord your God wants to do a new thing in you. He wants it to spring up into life — eternal to all those that are around you.
He wants to use you in new ways that you’ve never been used before. He wants to fill you until you’re running over with His Holy Spirit. He wants to use you in ways that you didn’t even know you could be used. So forget the things that are in the past. Yes, I have used you in many ways, says God, but I want to do a new thing.
I want a new thing to spring forth out of you and out of this church. Do not think of this, or that, or the other thing the Lord used to do. Do not remember the old temple and now mourn over the state of the new. Rather, know that I am the Lord your God, and I can use you and do things that will astound you — even in your own understanding.
Do not say, “I am Baptist. I am Methodist. I am Presbyterian. I’m Pentecostal.” Do not say, “I’m this, or that, or the other,” but rather say, “I am a child of the living God, and I am a child that can be filled with Him — with His power and His anointing.”
I will do a new thing in you, says God. But even as you go to prayer, go to prayer saying, “God, begin that new thing today.” Do not try to figure out what it is that I am going to do, or what I’ve done, or what I’ve not done in the past. The Lord God says, I will raise you up, and you will touch this generation. Then the generation you touch will touch many of those around them.
Know that I, the Lord your God, am not a God of old men or a God of young men — I am the God of all men and women. I desire to fill you and empower you in a new way — in a way that you have never, ever, ever imagined that I could use you.
Do not get stuck in your past. Do not be filled with doubt because you don’t see the same things you used to see. But rather know that I, the Lord your God, am about to do a new thing. Shall it not spring forth? says the Lord.
